The Campbell Jr. Spartans Fastpitch program is a middle school feeder program designed to develop young athletes while preparing them to compete at the high school level. Our goal is to build fundamental skills, foster teamwork, and instill a love for the game—all while representing the Campbell community with pride.
Tryout Information
Dates: April 29, 30, and May 1
- Silver, Tuesday 4.29
- Gold, Wednesday 4.30
- Scrimmages all players report, Thursday 5.1
Time: 6:00 – 8:00 PM, pitchers and catchers report at 5:30 PM
Location: CHS Softball Field ("The Stu")
Eligibility Requirements:
Players must meet one of the following criteria:
- Reside within the Campbell High School district
- Attend a 100% feeder school through school choice
- Have a parent/legal guardian who is a Cobb County School District employee (excluding part-time employees)
- In families with multiple households, the school of record is determined by the primary guardianship as defined by a divorce decree or court order.
Important: All players must have a completed Cobb County physical form to participate.
Grade Levels:
- Silver Team: 5th & 6th Grade
- Gold Team: 7th & 8th Grade
Season Timing
- August 4 – Beginning of October (if playoffs are made)
- Practices begin at the end of July (coaches will determine start date)
Practice Schedule
- Practices are held twice a week from 7:30 – 9:00 PM at "The Stu"
- Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday
Games & Tournaments
- Saturdays: Gold at 10 AM, Silver at 12 PM
- Sundays: Gold at 2 PM, Silver at 4 PM
- Weekday games typically replace a practice
- Chiefs/CHOA Middle School Bash August 22 & 23
Team Structure & Gameplay
- Rosters: ~12 players per team
- Rules:
- Gold Team plays under GHSA rules with a 43 ft. pitching distance
- Silver Team has free substitution on defense and can bat all players on the roster with a 40 ft. pitching distance
Budget & Fees
The budget is still in development but will cover:
- Field usage fees
- Umpires
- Uniforms/Practice Jerseys (returning players will not need new uniforms)
- Coaches’ stipends
- Tournament fees
- Equipment
- Organizational overhead
